I had a dream, if Beyoncé punched Donald Trump what would that look like? I painted ice exploding to reference ice detaining immigrants. In the top right corner I put a tv with Sesame Street characters Elmo Bart and Cookie Monster to reflect on Trumps decision to cancel the public broadcasting system. The eyes of the character or white out with no pupil to reflect them being turned “off”, the characters are crying black diamonds tears as they watch from inside the tv. In the bottom the tv I created a text to resemble closed caption saying “Elmo says help”. Next to the words bow is a bullet reflecting when he was shot in the ear. The art piece 30x40

My name is Jasmyne Johnson. currently I’m an art teacher for elementary schools. Previously I was a Graphic Coordinator for Warner Brothers where I designed and installed sets for various broadcasting studios. I am a creative of multiple mediums, painting, printmaking graphic design, motion graphics and many more. My creativity is inspired by God everyday I am inspired by the amazing things he created. Within my work I try to advocate for environmentalism, culture and community.
